Pink tag keychain with the name Anna in raised white letters.

The Keychains generator turns a name into a tag you can print: you type one or two lines, pick a font and a shape, and choose whether the letters stand up, are cut in, or are filled with a second colour. The hole is sized for the key ring. For a team, a class or an event, the same design takes a whole list of names as one batch.

How to make a name keychain

  1. Type the name

One line, or two. Letter height 4 to 30 mm, letter spacing adjustable.

  2. Pick a font and shape

11 fonts and 9 shapes. The shape grows round the letters, with a border of 1.5 to 12 mm.

  3. Choose the letter style

Raised, engraved, or inlaid: the letters are cut in and filled with a second colour, so the face stays flat.

  4. Set the hole

On the left or at the top, 3 to 10 mm across, with a wall of 2 to 6 mm round it.

  5. Export and print

Download 3MF for colours or STL, and print flat.

What you can change

Fonts
Bagel, Fredoka, Baloo, Chewy, Poppins, Bebas, Pacifico, Lobster, Great Vibes, DejaVu, DynaPuff.
Thickness
Tag 2 to 8 mm thick; raised letters 0.4 to 3 mm; engraving 0.6 to 1.6 mm deep.
Colours
Up to 3: the tag, the letters and an optional coloured band round the edge.
Batches
Paste a list of names, or a list with a second line each, and the studio lays every tag out on plates in one file.

Tip.Inlaid letters keep the face flat, which reads well and wears well on keys. Raised letters give more relief to the touch.

The 3MF keeps each colour as its own object, so a printer with automatic filament changes (such as a Bambu Lab AMS) prints it in one go. With one colour, print every object in the same filament.

Questions

How many fonts are there?

11, from rounded display fonts to scripts.

Can I make keychains for a whole list of names?

Yes. Paste the list and the studio builds every tag into one print file; a batch holds up to 200 pieces.

How big is the key ring hole?

You set it: 3 to 10 mm across, on the left or at the top.

What file do I get?

A 3MF, which keeps each colour as its own object for a multi-colour printer, or an STL. Every file is checked before it downloads: closed (watertight) geometry, a single shell and walls thick enough to print.

Is it free?

The free plan gives 3 designs a month on each generator. Selling the printed pieces needs the Seller or Studio plan, which include the commercial licence.

Licence

On the Free and Maker plans you may print your designs for yourself and as gifts, not for sale. Selling the printed pieces needs the Seller or Studio plan, which include the commercial licence and a licence certificate for each design. Pieces made during the free beta, before paid plans launched, may still be sold on the terms of that time. The exported files themselves can never be resold or redistributed, on any plan.

This is a summary. Read Can I sell rings I 3D print with Morcano? and the Terms, which are the authoritative text.
